The Carolyn’s Law petition initiative works to establish an Ohio Constitutional Amendment for legislation that will provide fair, safe, and effective staffing measures for nurse and nurse aide-to-patient care ratios. It proposes a ratio of 1 nurse and 1 state-tested nurse aide to 8 patients in long-term care facilities depending on level of injuries. A HUGE improvement over the current non-regulated long-term care ratios of 1 nurse and 1 state-tested nurse aide to 20+ patients. When passed into law, it will include all skilled nursing homes and facilities as well as skilled inpatient rehabilitation centers in the state of Ohio.
Come and enjoy the Annual Celebration Fundraiser and if you haven’t already, sign the petition. Enjoy the amazing jazz band of Herb Wilborn Jr. and band, line dancing with DJ AYO, and delicious dinner. Let’s move this important initiative to the ballot box and let all the people vote for improvements that will positively impact the health care of our loved ones and ourselves in these facilities.
